CSS stands for "Cascading Style Sheets." CSS allows for a greater amount of design aspects to be incorperated into a webpage. Without CSS, many design effects cannot be accomplished, or need more effort to be accomplished. CSS also can reduce the amount of images needed in a website, making the page faster to load. PHP stands for "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor." PHP is known as a "server side scripting language." PHP, in our designs, allow for ease of updating. It also allows for template driven website design, meaning adding a page is as easy as creating a new file and filling it. A good example of PHP use is on our Universal 7 website, where the "Message of the Week" is displayed on every page. Instead of updating every page to change the message, we simple need to edit one file and it changes on every page. [Close]
